Hands

If I'm ever going to draw real people and not just crazy nubby alien creatures, I'm going to need to practice a few things. Like drawing hands, for instance. I think my biggest weakness in drawing is not enough attention to detail, so I usually rough out clumsy mitten hands when drawing a whole person. I figure one way to get over this is to focus on the hands themselves.

good theory Mary, I often isolate body parts when I'm having trouble with anatomy, it helps alot. It's almost like studying and then knowing the answer when a question comes up. I'm doing this with lips right now, i always get stuck when I'm drawing heads in perspective, particulary a down head.

These are good! Nice that you are working on them! I am out of practice. Hands are SO important. A lot of us take them for granted but they are capable of so much expression and even say a lot through subtle body language! Very cool!
